About the Owner

When Greg Noll closed his surf shop in the early seventies, a protégé of his, Eddie Talbot (ET) opened ET Surfboards. In 1971,a hot young surfer named George Beard joined the ET surf team. While stopping by the shop pick up another surfboard, ET offered George a job in the shop selling surfboards. It all sounded great but in 1975 George was painfully shy and wasn’t quite sure it would work out. He spent the next 22 years there loving every minute of it and learning the intricacies of the surf trade. In 1997 he opened Doheny Board Center with business partner, co-owner, and Hermosa Beach surfer, Greg Armer.
